Boser came up with the bases loaded in the first inning and struck out. So when she came up again with two on in the third and yet another time with a runner at third in the fifth, she was looking for payback. In the third, she beat out an infield single to second, and got an RBI making the score 3-1. In the fifth, she hit a sacrifice fly to score courtesy runner Kendra Feldman from third and tie the score at three. "I blew it the first time, but came back and redeemed myself," Boser said. Spigner, who allowed two runs in the first inning and another in the third on a home run by Demi Meza, settled down the rest of the game. Following the home run, Spigner struck out eight batters and didn’t allow anyone to reach third base. It wasn’t perfection, but the Vikings will take it as they prepare for a second round matchup against the winner of Poly (Riverside) and Santa Margarita???????????? "It’s good to make your mistakes early," Boser said. "You know what you need to fix."
The Vikings had five straight singles in the inning and six hits overall in the frame. Lauren Boser’s single to center field scored a pair and designated player Annie Dreher also had an RBI single in the inning. Boser also added a sacrifice fly for an RBI in the fourth inning, where the Vikings tacked on three runs on Cowboys starting pitcher Ashley Johnson, who went the distance on Thursday but picked up the loss. Johnson struck out four and walked a pair. In the fourth frame, the Vikings sent seven hitters to the plate. They had four singles in addition to Boser’s sacrifice fly.
